If you think that the lock screen in Windows 8 is unnecessary and want to have faster access to the logon screen, then you should disable it.

• Move your mouse to the bottom-right corner of the screen and click on Search. In the search field type gpedit.msc.

•  Launch gpedit.msc app.

• Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\ Personalization.

• Double-click the Do not display the lock screen option, set it to Enabled and click on Apply.
